The assembly of the Dejbjerg Wagon

Setting up the Dejbjerg Wagon in the National Museum’s exhibition of prehistory was a huge task. It required many man-hours to put together the great jigsaw puzzle of over 10,000 pieces. In the picture series you can follow the assembly of the Dejbjerg Wagon – from the mounting of the smallest pieces to the whole wagon being moved into the display case.

The wagon in the exhibition is a composite of parts from both the wagons found at Dejbjerg. Neither of the wagons was completely preserved. They were of the same type but did not constitute an identical pair.
