Warriors in combat?

Some people in the early Neolithic period were injured in combat. The fights were probably over the right to space, power and leadership. Injuries to the head were treated with trepanning, a surgical intervention where splinters of bone, tumours or blood clots were removed. Trepanations were carried out on the left side of the head, where an axe or club often strikes in close combat. Large bone arrows were also used as battle weapons.
