Transport
From Slagelse train station you will be able to hop on a bus to Trelleborg Friskole – from there is a 15 minutes walk to The Viking FortressTrelleborg. OBS: The bus is free and is available from Slagelse train station each Monday to Friday. The bus does notdrive during the school holidays. You can find the busplan here
Through www.rejseplanen.dk it is possible to pre-book a flexbus. You need to book it at least 2 hours in advance. This bus is not for free, but it does drive in the weekends and during holidays if booked in advanced. Typically, when doing this trip, you need to take bus 901 from Slagelse st., and then you will be picked up by a flexbus along the way.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
During the annual Viking summer in the weeks 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31 and during the Viking Festival in week 29, the café Ristet Rug will be open and you can find a wide selection of food and beverages. At the museum shop you’ll be able to purchase warm coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, ice-cream and snacks. You can freely use our benches at the outdoor area.
PARKING OPTIONS
It’s possible to park in front of the museum. During the annual Viking Festival (13.07-21.07-2024) our parking lot near the museum is often full and you can find a temporary parking lot nearby.
Disabled parking: Currently, there is parking lots for people with disabilities. During the peak season we do recommend you park in front of the museum. Please contact the museum if it is not available.
Busses: You can find parking spots for busses. Please contact the museum if it is not available.
MAY I BRING MY DOG?
Yes, dogs are more than welcome at the Viking Fortress Trelleborg. Remember to keep them in a leash and remember to clean up after your dog. Please, use the bins that are located around Trelleborg’s area.
THE MUSEUM SHOP
The museum shop is open during Trelleborg’s opening hours but can be opened exceptionally by further agreement. At Trelleborg’s museum shop you can immortalize your memory from your visit. The shop has a wide selection including horns, replicas of Viking jewelry made of amber, bronze, silver and leather. Furthermore, you will be able to find Viking coloring books, Viking clothes, sword and shiels and many other intriguing Viking inspired materials.

CAN I GET AROUND IN A WHEELCHAIR?
The Viking Fortress Trelleborgs roads are gravel but quite stable. However, the terrain at the Viking fortress itself is grass, so it might be tricky to use a wheelchair there. On the gravel road you'll be able to travel safe and sound from the longhouse to the Viking village. There's stairs at the fortress itself, and it's not possible to go to the top of the ringfortress by wheelchair. However, you'll still be able to enjoy the wonderful view of the fortress, and you'll have the possibility to visit the longhouse and Viking village in a wheelchair.
PRAMS AND CHANGING TABLES
It is possible to go around Trelleborg with a pram. Note: at the ring castle itself there is grass and not gravel. You can access our Viking village "Slagløse" by the gravel path as well as our longhouse. There is a changing table by the toilet in the museum shop, which can be used freely when the museum shop is open.
CAN I TAKE PHOTOS AND RECORD VIDEOS?
You are more than welcome to take pictures and film, when you visit Viking Castle Trelleborg. However, you must remember that it must be for private use (e.g. holiday photos, photos you share on your own private accounts on the internet). You can find Vikingeborgen Trelleborg on Instagram (@trelleborgenvikingeborg) or on Facebook (Vikingeborgen Trelleborg).
Besides that, Trelleborg's exhibited objects must not suffer any nuisance, and therefore we recommend, that you do not use flash in the museum exhibition. Please, do not disturb the other museum visitors, when taking photographs.
Professional photography for the purpose of commercial publication can take place after permission from the communications officer.
DRONEFLYING

• Smoking is not permitted at Trelleborg
• After the museum's closing time, all buildings will be locked
• Climbing on the museum buildings is not permitted
• It is not allowed to stress or chase the sheep
• The museum's parking lot and the museum area are under video surveillance
• Overnight stays on the museum grounds and parking spaces are not permitted.
