What exactly is a cat-o'-nine-tails? And how were disobedient sailors punished in the old days?

You can delve into these questions starting June 29th, when the Danish War Museum welcomes you to a host of fun holiday activities for both children and adults.

Here, you can test your teamwork skills by loading a cannon, see who is the best at hitting a target with a bow and arrow, or find out if you are strong enough to hoist sacks and load a ship.

You can also dress up in historical uniforms and pretend to be soldiers from the old days – or take a selfie with Christian IV, Denmark's famous king.

And when it's time for a little break to rest your legs, our drawing area is filled with paper, colored pencils, and copies of warships, knights, and tanks for you to color.

In the Tøjhusgården courtyard, you can get some fresh air while exploring our legendary Leopard tank – and you are welcome to climb on it (though at your own risk).

The Danish War Museum is open every day from 10 am to 5 pm, and all activities are free with paid admission – children under 18 enter for free.
