Trelleborg Viking Festival 2024
The Trelleborg Viking Festival 2024 is set to take place from July 13th to July 21st in 2024. The event is one of Denmark's largest Viking festivals, and will be held at the historic and newly announced UNESCO world heritage site, the Viking Fortress Trelleborg. The festival offers a journey back to the Viking age, featuring a vibrant Viking community, with a focus on Viking warriors, trade, arts and crafts. Immerse yourself in the Viking life, go exploring various Viking stalls, taste the Viking food, enjoy archery, and participate in free guided tours.
The festival also highlights the cozy aspects of the Viking life, showcasing beautiful Viking crafts, the creation of plant-based dyes, costume making, blacksmithing, and woodworking. About 800 Vikings will be present at the campsite, offering an array of experiences like tasting Viking-era food, listening to stories, watching birds of prey, and enjoying a show with horses and bows.
A major highlight of the festival is the "Battle of Trelleborg", a dramatic reenactment featuring 250 fearless Viking warriors. This event, showcasing a clash of steel, strength, and courage, will occur daily from July 18th to July 21st at 1 PM.
The entrance fee for the festival is 150 DKK per adult per day and 50 DKK per child per day. Additionally, the festival features various activities like baking flatbread over an open fire, creating Viking-themed crafts, and archery, facilitated through activity coins priced at 25 DKK.
