Emil Andersen researches the history of Greenland and Denmark in the 17th and 18th centuries, and especially the missionary Hans Egede. He was also affiliated with the research project Activating Arctic Heritage on Greenland's two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. He is also particularly interested in early modern European cultural history seen in the light of the period's globalisation.
