Conservation and restoration at the National Museum

The National Museum of Denmark's Conservation Department performs many restoration and conservation projects relating to both the museum's own collections and external customers. Work is carried out in close collaboration with customers, from the planning stages to carrying out the work, in order to satisfy the customer's particular needs and ensure the optimal result. We have a strong track record of consulting and completing large projects that require well integrated solutions for the successful completion of the task in hand.

Our work is based on years of practical experience in the conservation and restoration cultural materials. We work on the basis of craftsmanship, supported by staff that have extensive knowledge in historic materials and techniques.

You are always welcome to contact us if you have questions about materials, damage and storage or require a free, no-obligation, quote for conservation and restoration.

The various specialisms and workshops of the Conservation Department are shown below with accompanying pictures.
