What did Stone Age people look like?

People in the Mesolithic period were shorter than today. A woman’s average height was 154 cm and a man’s 166 cm. On average people lived to the age of 35, and were more well built than today. Traces of powerful muscles can be seen on their bones. Physical activity was part of their lives from childhood, and they developed powerful muscles as a result. But otherwise they were no different from today’s population. We probably would not notice a Stone Age man if he dressed in modern clothes and walked down the street! An expert might recognize that the skull was slightly heavier or the jaw muscles were well developed due to the coarse diet. However, it would not be possible to ask him what he ate as our languages would be completely different.
