MMTP at Kulturmødet Mors

MMTP at Kulturmødet Mors

22.08.2025

How can we improve conditions for play? And what role do cultural institutions, politicians, and society play in ensuring children’s well-being through art and play?

These are the central questions at Kulturmødet Mors, where Moving Museums Through Play and the National Museum are strongly represented this year as part of our work exploring the potential of play within the museum space.

The Children’s Culture Summit

MMTP and the National Museum are co-organizers of the event The Children’s Culture Summit, which takes place at Kulturmødet on Friday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The Children’s Culture Summit puts play on the agenda — not just as a free space for children, but as a crucial cultural force that reaches far into the future. The program consists of presentations and a panel debate on stage, periodically interrupted by a market atmosphere where various booths offer everything from discussions to creative play and fantastic stories — and, importantly, the opportunity to connect with others for whom children’s culture and the conditions for play are vital.

Meet MMTP and the National Museum

We participate in The Children’s Culture Summit with two program points:

  • Panel with Rane Willerslev
Rane Willerslev, director and MMTP program owner, will speak on the summit’s stage about play as a primal force and about creating creative, emphatic, and proactive adults by giving space to free imagination and communities in childhood.

  • Frilandsmuseet at the Marketplace
The Open-Air Museum, Frilandsmuseet, a participating museum in MMTP, invites everyone to play at the marketplace inspired by their major visitor success Frøsnapperbyen (in Danish).

The summit has been created through collaboration among a broad circle of Danish cultural actors who all care about play: The National Museum, The Royal Danish Theatre, Danish Museum of Science and Technology, Design School Kolding, DR Culture Children and Youth, Dansk Kulturliv, and Børns Møde med Kunsten.
