The Tales of Bronze Age Women project deals with migration and mobility in prehistory. Part of this research is based on the strontium isotope method, a means of investigating the mobility of prehistoric individuals and objects by comparing the strontium isotope ratio in e.g. teeth, hair, nails, skin and textiles with the strontium isotope ratio in the biosphere (baselines). Pernille Ladegaard-Pedersen is a graduate of natural geography, and has previously worked as an environmental advisor at GEO (an engineering firm) and as a scientific assistant at the Center for Permafrost at the Department of Geoscience and Nature Management at Copenhagen University. She uses her expertise in the geo- and biosphere realms to map regional strontium isotope relationships via establishing baselines. She conducts sample collection, laboratory work and the interpretation of strontium data.
