Welcome to Liselund
A Romantic Garden and House
On the far side of Møn lies the most adorable little miniature palace surrounded by an enchanted garden.
The nobleman Antoine de la Calmette named Liselund after his beloved wife, Lisa. Together, they created a garden with the ordered wildness that the Romantic era craved. With gentle slopes and idyllic lakes, dramatic gorges and dense forest. Remote monuments and houses from distant lands are scattered across the dreamlike garden, and the idyll is topped off with peacocks, ducks and water lilies.
In the clearing lies the 'summer residence', Liselund House, where this 18th century jetset couple explored the philosophical, free thoughts of the enlightenment period and the tension between nature and culture of the time.
Now, you can explore the garden or bring a picnic basket and enjoy a day in the enchanting surroundings. The garden is the best-preserved romantic garden in Denmark and is open all year round.
Enjoy.
