Miguel Sicart: On Adults, Play, and Museums
23.03.2026
Join us on Wednesday 6th of May for a chat about adults, play, and museums, featuring inspiring insights from Miguel Sicart and examples from MMTP.
Moving Museums Through Play once again hosts an exciting morning dedicated to play, knowledge sharing, and inspiration.
This time, we explore why adults are rarely given the opportunity to play, and how we can create museum experiences that allow the playful side of adults to emerge. Joining us on the day is Miguel Sicart, head of Center for Digital Play at the IT University of Copenhagen and author of Play Matters (The MIT Press, 2014). In his talk, Sicart will share his perspectives on why we play, why play is also important for adults, and how we can bring playfulness back into our often very serious adult lives.
In addition to Miguel Sicart’s presentation, the morning will feature one of MMTP’s ongoing projects. This time, we dive into how we have worked with play, prototypes, and co-design with young adults in the development of new playful experiences at the National Museum.
The event is free, but spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
