New roof
From 5th August 2025:
Parts of The Sea Captain's House are getting a new thatched roof. Therefore, until around mid-September, there will be no access to the barn, where the whale skeleton and the special exhibition by Rømø Local Museum are normally displayed.
REDUCED ADMISSION: 50 DKK instead of 70 DKK per adult.
While the barn is closed, the ticket to the museum is reduced.
A group ticket (at least 10 adults) cost 45 DKK per person.
Children below the age of 18 get free admission.
Apart from the barn, the rest of the old farmstead is open as usual.

Group of minimum 10 adults: DKK 55 per person (must be paid all together).

PARKING
There is a large car park next to the museum with space for tourist buses.
CAFÉ
At the museum you will find the cosy café, Café Kaskelot, where you can enjoy the view of the Sea Captain's House and the marsh to the east.
DOGS
Dogs are not allowed inside the museum, only on the outside premises.
DISABLED ACCESS
The house has limited access for wheelchair users. There is easy access to the whale skeleton and temporary exhibitions in the barn.
