The objectives of the museum

 

The Danish Music Museum shall stimulate musical interest amongst children and adults, laymen and specialists, music consumers and performers.

This is achieved by, amongst other things, exciting curiosity, asking questions and establishing a connection between sound and objects, between musical expression, craftsmanship and technological development.

 

The Danish Music Museum has moved

The exhibition is temporarily closed - the museum has been relocated

The Danish Music Museum's exhibition is temporarily closed due to its relocation to Rosenørns allé. The exhibition reopens on September 12, 2014.

The office is open at the address Worsaaesvej 19, 2nd floor, 1972 Frederiksberg C. The library is closed; the re-opening is scheduled to April 1, 2014.

The Danish Music Museum holds instruments from the whole world and also includes a library and archive, which in particular contains material relating to musical instruments and Danish music.

In addition, the museum houses the Danish Organ Index.
