Young Japanese create visual stories about themselves digitally and on stickers in purikura – photobooths often located in gaming arcades.
The photobooths perform a kind of digital plastic surgery based on Japanese ideals of female beauty. The eyes are made bigger, the skin lighter and smoother, the nose smaller, and the head rounder.
